About the Artist
Yuko Yamaguchi is a Japanese-born monoprint artist and textile designer whose practice explores material transformation, memory, and the instability of perception through fluid, process-based image making. Informed by Japanese aesthetics and her background in textile/fashion design, she approaches monoprinting not as reproduction, but as a time-based record—where watercolor, ink, pressure, gravity, and evaporation shape images that hover between presence and disappearance. Yamaguchi is a Studio Artist in Printmaking at Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA) and an Associate Artist at Bakehouse Art Complex (both 2025–present). She is a 2025–2026 Miami Individual Artists (MIA) Grant recipient, with Key Holder Residencies at IS Projects and the Miami Paper & Printing Museum, and has exhibited at venues including Stove Works (TN), MIFA, Bakehouse, MDC Kendall Campus Art Gallery, and IS Projects. She holds degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology (BFA Illustration; AAS Fashion Illustration) and her work is included in collections of the New York Public Library and Giorgio Armani, among others.
