Lara Padilla
About the Artist
Lara Padilla is a multidisciplinary artist trained in Fine Arts, film photography, and dance. Working across painting, sculpture, video art, performance/body action, and clothing design, she uses art as a tool for healing and social reflection—often responding to injustice and advocating for love, freedom, diversity, and more equitable relationships among people, animals, and the world around us. Known for her vibrant, fresh style and early interventions in public spaces in Spain and Miami, Padilla’s practice is strongly shaped by movement and action art. Her acclaimed Tetris series addresses the female body with sensitivity and grace, honoring the natural struggles and transformations tied to womanhood. Influenced by expressionistic tendencies of the early 1980s, her work pairs bold visual energy with an ongoing commitment to the complex social issues that inspire her.
