Ken Spurgeon is a Michigan native who relocated from Michigan to Miami to be closer to family in 2023. Back in Michigan he owned his own Custom Painting & Wallpaper company for 45 years and, upon retiring, decided he wanted to do a different kind of painting. Today, his mediums are acrylic, pastels, pencil, and charcoal.
While Ken & Debra Spurgeon share a studio at collaboARTive, each artist is developing their own individual practices and making the residency the foundation for their artistic growth.
