Marine Fonteyne is a photo-based multimedia artist born in Brazil with Belgian descent. She discovered her passion for photography early on and continued to refine her artistic vision through her studies at École de la Photographie, Brussels; Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado, ESPM, both in São Paulo, and at the Scuola di Fotografia Professionalle Riccardo Bauer in Milan, Italy.
With over 20 years of professional experience and a background in marketing and commercial photography, Fonteyne approaches her artwork with a strong storytelling foundation, creating tactile narratives through experimentation with mixed media, fiber, embroidery, sculpture, collage and installation. In her practice she aims to reclaim memories, whether collected, shared or on her own.
Fonteyne elevates her visual storytelling by printing meaningful images on fabric, adding a compelling dimension to her work. Her unique aesthetic has garnered recognition, with her work featured in prestigious publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Brides, Elle, and White. The recipient of numerous international awards, Fonteyne’s work is showcased in galleries, art fairs, interior design exhibitions and Consulates, in the USA and internationally.
