Hector Figallo is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the dynamic interplay of light, movement, color, and form through geometrical abstraction. Working primarily with acrylic, ink, wax, and mixed media, he creates evocative visual experiences that challenge perception through optical illusions, rhythm, and the emotional resonance of shapes and colors. His inspiration draws from cultural and environmental influences, with particular emphasis on urban landscapes and personal reflections, resulting in a distinctive visual language that speaks to both intellect and emotion.
Figallo's signature series demonstrate his technical mastery and conceptual depth: The Madrid Series captures the vibrant cultural atmosphere of Spain's capital through dynamic color and form relationships; The Cooper Series pushes boundaries between mechanical and natural through innovative use of copper leaf and patinas, creating intricate narratives with metallic textures and organic shapes; and The Optical Series challenges visual reality through transformative patterns that encourage deep viewer engagement. His participation in Art Miami/Context in December 2024 marked a significant milestone, showcasing his commitment to exploring themes of movement and transformation on an international stage.

In the symphony of life, I found my artistic crescendo later than most, launching my creative journey after six decades. As a self-taught artist, I am devoted to geometrical abstraction, where shapes and colors harmonize to create visual experiences that transcend the ordinary. Inspired by Bridget Riley, Victor Vasarely, and Jesús Rafael Soto, I am drawn to the pulsating rhythm and optical illusions of this captivating genre.
Each deliberate brushstroke unlocks the profound language of visual expression, a conduit for emotion and passion that transcends spoken language. The amalgamation of shapes and hues forms a dynamic symphony, captivating the senses and inviting viewers to explore their own perceptions. As I navigate this artistic chapter, I am inspired by the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless possibilities that unfold with each stroke. My paintings are windows into the soul, inviting viewers to discover the nuances of perception and the interplay of shapes.
