Join us for Noche de Arte, collaboARTive’s free weekly art experience at Gallery 100 inside InterContinental Miami—where hotel guests, locals, and visitors come together for a relaxed night of art, conversation, and creative play.
Each Monday, you’ll meet a featured artist, enjoy light bites provided by InterContinental Miami, and take part in a hands-on collage activity—no experience needed, just show up and make something.
JULY 2026 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: EiY Emily Peters
July 20th: WATER [Live Sound Bath + Free Movement]
The final immersive experience amidst EiY’s solo sustainable textile and sound exhibition traverses the element of Water. Together we will flow through pranayama to clear, soothe and activate our energy channels, then drift with a free-movement exploration inspired by Gaga Metodika. This method of movement provides a fluid, unfettering structure for investigating texture, meandering through sensation, relating to gravity and surrendering the mind to the innate wisdom of the body and its qi (or energy). After we have inquired in this physical way, we will receive a sound bath from the cosmic sounds of the wind gong, crystal singing pyramid, Tibetan singing bowls, kyizi (Nepalese gongs), wayunki (a newer instrument created in eastern Europe, that has a sound somewhere between a xylophone, a theremin and a chime), gentle shakers, and bamboo flute. To close, we’ll ground and share with each other.
10 min: Welcome and Introduction
15 min: guided pranayama
30 min: Free movement
30 min: Sound Bath by the artist and maybe 1 other sound practitioner
30 min: Share
Attendees should bring a blanket or yoga mat
In SUññATA, EiY (Emily Peters) presents a body of participatory installation works spanning the mediums of sustainable textile, sound, film and performance that engage in subconscious mind repatterning, nervous system re-regulation and self-inquiry. Thanks to CollaboARTive’s Artist Residency, Noche de Arte, EiY’s Earth-centered and zero-waste works can be viewed at Gallery 100 in the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami. Every Monday in July, surrounded by EiY's zero-waste, earth pigment dyed works, we will journey together through experiences that explore the elements - Air, Earth and Water - invite deep rest, through the tools of sound immersion and deep listening, free movement, mark-making with mineral pigments, and sub-tropical herbalism. Drop in with the artist in a cocoon of earth-dyed, hand-formed textile art and earth-magic inspired sounds.
About the Artist
Emily Peters (EiY) is a sustainable artist and musician specializing in fiber, metal, and sound art. She was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and has lived and worked in Miami, Florida for nearly twenty years. Emily earned a Bachelor of Science in Clothing Design with a minor in Fine Art from University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2006. Emily constructs with discarded materials using non-toxic and Earth friendly methods and composes soundscapes that are heavily influenced by nature and self inquiry. In her sound practice, she translates sensation into soundscapes. Her formal vocal training started at a tender age, continued intensively through young adulthood, and was reborn later in life through Southeast Asian and Native American chanting, singing and vibrational practices. Subtropical herbalism, permaculture and movement practices also nourish and inform EiY’s work.
