Atelierlustig: All Roads Lead to New Natures

  • Gallery 100 at InterContinental Miami 100 Chopin Plaza Miami, Florida, 33131 United States (map)

Free exhibition of hand-felted wool sculptures, embroidered paper works, and fiber art with responsive light by artist duo Atelierlustig.

Watch the artists create live, and add your own stitch to a communal textile. Hosted by collaboARTive during Hispanic Heritage Month.

About This Event:

Mexican-born Vanessa and Miami-born Adam Lustig are Atelierlustig, an artist duo creating hand-felted wool sculptures, embroidered paper works, and fiber pieces with responsive light that appears to breathe. Their first solo exhibition, All Roads Lead to New Natures, brings nearly two decades of work together in one space during Hispanic Heritage Month.

What to expect:

A visit to Gallery 100 this October offers three things. Beautiful, handcrafted artworks made from wool, paper, silk, and light, some of which appear to breathe. The rare experience of watching these multicultural artists finish new works together in front of visitors. And the chance to add a stitch to To Be Floridian, a large communal textile where every contributor is permanently credited as co-author.

About the artists:

Vanessa was raised between Mexico City and Miami, trained as a photographer, psychologist, and art researcher before turning fully to art, earning her MFA with Distinction from Transart Institute for Creative Research in association with Liverpool John Moores University (UK). Her work has been shown in Mexico, France, the UK, and the EU, including a solo exhibition at the Museo de la Ciudad in Guadalajara. Adam is a Miami-born, self-taught contemporary visual artist with gemology training who brings rare sensitivity to stone, metal, wool, paper, embroidery, and light. Together they have exhibited in Florida and Seattle. Vanessa is a member of Fiber Art Miami Association and Dimensions Variable.
